Overnight Accommodations

Higgins

All students are required to stay overnight in a residence hall. Students will be paired with a roommate and an Orientation Team member will serve as a community facilitator. This is a great way to connect with other new students who will be entering WIU in the fall. The meals provided for the program will be served in the residence hall dining facility. Family members and guests can choose, but are not required, to stay on campus overnight. If you choose to stay off campus, there are hotel and bed and breakfast accommodations available throughout Macomb.

Higgins Floor Plan

Linens (sheets, a pillow, and a blanket), two bath towels, and a washcloth will be provided for the program. Amenities that are not available include items such as toiletries, a television, telephone, and hair dryer.

You will need to bring anything which you would normally need to get ready for the day. Don't forget to bring an alarm clock and an extra blanket. You will want to pack comfortable clothes and shoes. We recommend you dress in layers. While buildings are air conditioned, some rooms are much colder than others and you will be walking outside in the summer heat. Temperature cannot be regulated in individual rooms.

Students, family members, or guests needing any special accommodations in order to fully participate in the program or having any special needs such as health concerns, dietary needs, etc., should contact Student Development and Orientation at (309) 298-1884.
